![]() I'll be cracking this box open later today and starting on the build. They always do a great job on securing everything in the box and the tape job on the outside is fantastic! ![]() Speaking of Element RC, I think out of all my many orders, Element has the nicest looking and well packaged packages. A new GK Builders Kit and a shipment of assorted parts sent directly from Element RC. With a few orders of parts, this new build will evolve into the tiny version of my 1:1 Tacoma.Ī couple orders arrived this past week to start the new build. This new GK Kit will now be the GK-Knightrunner build that I previously had planned for the Ecto. And since the price of the Gatekeeper Builders Kit is still crazy cheap, I went ahead and picked up another GK Kit. Well, after building the GK-Ecto and really liking how it looks and how it has all come together, I've decided to keep this as an Ecto permanently. I've heard many good things about the Ecto and how good it does right out of the box and how it will drive lines and keep up with most flat rail chassis'. In the meantime though, my plan is to pick up an Ecto body and see just how good these rigs are. "The end goal is to use this kit to build this kit using the IFS and Knightrunner body to build a tiny version of my 1:1 Toyota Tacoma. Looking back at my first post of this thread, this was the plan: So as I mentioned a few post back, I've decided to go a different route with this build. This will be the last update for now until I can get the Ecto clear body ordered. The Ecto front bumper and accessories did arrive and I got it installed. I thought the DrIsotope vids were biased against the Ecto with poor line choice and abrupt throttle use.One last update on the GK-Ecto as I wait for parts to come back in stock. Mine is basically new, and not beat on yet. The Ecto has few features compared to most but an excellent base vehicle. IMO, drop on tooth on the pinion & put in a smooth ESC and the Ecto is very competent. Gotta ditch the oversensitive stock ESC for a 1080. It does everything the others do, easier. I have not got its sidehill ability dialed in yet - does ok but not the best. My Enduro climbs very well but the stock axles hang up in too many areas. The F9 Scx 10 II with portals climbs everything (does need overdrive) and is low enough to sidehill well. My comparisons with the Ecto are a RTR SCX10 II with F9 portals (fairly tricked), and a RTR Enduro with shock keys & wheels/tires and brass (otherwise stock). Its bulky diffs are a detractor though.ĭitch the stock tires and ditch the overly sensitive stock ESC and I think it will perform really well for an RTR. It rides flat and still articulates well. I think the trailing arms and swaybar on the Ecto reduce greatly the torque twist vs the standard Enduro Senduro chassis. If you want portals on the Element AR45 maybe a good option but I am not sure about how the diffs will line up. What I have seen is the dig doesn't engage and disengage very well. I have no experience with the Axial in that video. High pinion axles on the Element will get rid of the torque twist and the front end won't lift and seem as light. The lighter body on the TRX and dumping unneedy plastic brings the TRX GOG down. If you want a winner put a lighter body and get rid of the extra weight on the TRX or get some high pinion axles (AR44s are a good choice) on the Element. Let’s see and hear about your builds and adventures. I wanna hear the truth, the whole truth, and… yes I can handle the truth! Anyhow, I have been anxiously waiting to see fellow forum members post real life reviews etc… All the youtube reviewers read the same press release verbiage. Many are projects I dream of getting running. I was so tempted to purchase an rtr but am fighting the urge since I already have a dozen various rc’s collecting dust due to family demands. I was stoked to see the Ecto Trail release.
